About the setting
The book begins during World War II with the story of Zeev Sapir, a boy who lost his family and was a prisoner in Auschwitz. This is one of the most infamous concentration camps and it was located in Germany.
The setting of this book was mainly in San Fernando, Argentina, a safe haven for Nazis in South America. Adolf Eichmann fled from Germany to Argentina and managed to escape the people hunting down the Nazis. There he spent a good portion of his life, until the Mossad agents managed to find him. He lived in the house on Garibaldi Street,
These pictures were taken weeks before the operation took place, and Harrel managed to identify it as the Eichmann house. It has received special fame as "The house on Garibaldi Street"
The setting of the book is also in Israel, the home of Isser Harrel, the Nazi hunter and Mossad agent in charge of Eichmann's case. Israel, at the time, was a newly established country which became home to all displaced Jews who survived the Holocaust.
